Matthew R. Trial
Matthew R. Trial is a finance and operations executive with more than 15 years of experience helping companies scale, improve profitability, and build the financial infrastructure required to support growth. Over the course of his career, he has held senior leadership roles in Finance and Operations, leading complex multi-entity organizations, enterprise system transformations, and strategic financial initiatives.F
Matthew’s background extends well beyond traditional finance leadership. He has served in executive operating roles including Global President of Third-Party Maintenance and Global Chief Operating Officer, where he held full P&L responsibility and led teams across multiple regions. His work has included restoring profitability in underperforming divisions, implementing global ERP and operational platforms, and strengthening financial controls and reporting to support better executive decision-making.
A key strength Matthew brings to organizations is his ability to bridge the gap between finance, operations, technology, and sales. Rather than treating finance as a standalone function, he focuses on designing financial systems and processes that support the broader needs of the business. By translating across departments and aligning operational realities with financial insight, he helps leadership teams make clearer, more informed decisions.
Throughout his career, Matthew has led initiatives that materially improved business performance, including implementing a global service delivery platform on Salesforce to modernize operations and significantly reduce service delivery costs, restoring profitability in an international region through operational and cost structure improvements, and restructuring a global credit facility to simplify lending structures and improve liquidity across multiple operating entities.
Matthew founded SLT Advisory to work directly with founders, operators, and private equity teams who require experienced financial leadership but may not yet need a full-time executive. Through SLT Advisory, he partners with leadership teams to build financial and operational foundations that allow growing organizations to scale with confidence.
Matthew holds a CPA and an MBA with a concentration in accounting.
Outside of his professional work, Matthew lives in the Atlanta area with his wife and two children. He enjoys staying active, spending time on the lake, and hunting and fishing with family and friends. An avid endurance athlete, he has completed four Ironman 70.3 races and multiple swimrun endurance events.
